The opportunity

We are looking for a Technical Marketing & MRD Specialist on Smart Sensors & Edge AI to investigate, structure and document the market requirements for next-generation smart sensor applications powered by our Analog Edge AI low-power ASIC. You bring a solid engineering background that enables you to understand our technology at a deep technical level and translate what you learn into precise, measurable requirements. You combine strong analytical and writing skills with a genuine understanding of technology markets.

In this role, you translate market needs, customer problems and application requirements into a structured MRD that guides GEMESYS’s strategy, product, technology and business development activities. You work closely with our management, engineers and business developers to answer critical questions such as:

Which smart sensor markets have the strongest need for local or edge AI, meaning on-device learning, inference, event or anomaly detection, or data compression?
What problems are customers currently unable to solve efficiently?
What sensor capabilities, AI functions and performance levels are required?
Which applications benefit most from on-device learning and inference?
What are the requirements around power consumption, latency and bandwidth?
Which technical requirements are driven by customers, and which by competitors or industry standards?
Which product requirements should GEMESYS prioritize for its Edge AI technology?

The goal is an MRD that engineering can design against: every requirement quantified, prioritized per segment and traceable to specific client discussions and use cases.

Your role

Market & Application Research

Build a deep understanding of our analog AI hardware, its capabilities and limitations, together with our team.
Research the global smart sensor and Edge AI landscape and identify relevant market segments, applications and customer groups.
Analyze emerging applications for intelligent and autonomous sensors.
Investigate industry trends, technology adoption and customer requirements.
Identify high-value use cases where local or edge AI processing provides tangible benefits.
Identify opportunities where GEMESYS’s Analog Edge AI architecture creates differentiated value, also beyond sensors.
Research competing technologies and alternative solutions, with the support of our engineers.

Customer & Stakeholder Requirements

Identify and structure customer pain points and unmet needs.
Translate qualitative customer requirements into measurable product requirements.
Define functional and non-functional requirements for smart sensor systems.
Classify these requirements into categories, so that the engineering teams can make trade-offs.
Source and conduct customer, expert and partner interviews through your own network, and run the market validation independently.
Share your findings with management, and join selected customer and investor meetings where they add value.

Market Requirements Document
You own the development of a comprehensive MRD, including:

Market overview, segmentation and competitive landscape
Target applications and use cases
Customer personas and stakeholders, where relevant
Customer pain points and unmet needs
Market and technology trends and their future projections
Alternative technology approaches
Market and product specification requirements for our Analog Edge AI ASIC: power, energy modes, bandwidth, area, process nodes, target ASP and further parameters, prioritized per segment and traceable to specific client discussions and use cases
Product opportunity areas
Recommendations for product and technology development
Regulatory and industry considerations

Cross-Functional Collaboration

Work closely with GEMESYS’s technical teams to understand the capabilities and limitations of the underlying analog AI hardware.
Lead our in-house market analysis team and resources efficiently, so that they support your work and build their own skill set.
Translate technical capabilities into customer and application value propositions.
Facilitate discussions between technical, commercial and management stakeholders.
Challenge our existing assumptions with customer and market evidence.
Ensure that product requirements are traceable to actual market needs.
Guide future product roadmap decisions.

Deliverables
You are responsible for producing a professional MRD. Every requirement specified in it is prioritized for each segment and traceable to specific client discussions and use cases.

What you bring

Experience in technical marketing, product marketing or application engineering for semiconductors, sensors or embedded systems.
Solid understanding of sensor signal chains, low-power electronics and embedded AI, deep enough to discuss architecture trade-offs with chip designers.
Extensive experience developing Market Requirements Documents, Product Requirements Documents, market studies or comparable strategic or technical documentation.
An established network in smart sensors, Edge AI or semiconductors that gives you direct access to potential customers, domain experts and industry partners, without relying on GEMESYS contacts.
Proven ability to independently source, schedule and conduct customer and expert interviews, and to run market validation end to end.
Ability to translate complex technical concepts into clear market and customer requirements.
Experience researching technology markets and competitive landscapes.
Excellent strategic, analytical and structured thinking skills.
Ability to communicate effectively with both technical and business stakeholders.
Ability to independently conduct research, identify information gaps and develop well-supported conclusions.
